Fish Pedicure in Florence in 4 Easy Steps

Where to get a pedicure in Florence

I found the perfect thing to do in Florence when you feel like you’ve done it all. Instead of heading to a museum, park or wine bar why not treat yourself to the most interesting thing in town?

Doesn’t tons of little fish sucking the dead flesh off your desperately needed pedicure feet sound like a good idea? You’re in luck because thanks to Florence Fish Kiss there’s a new type of pedicure in Florence. It’s time to experience something totally unexpected right by the DuomoFor only 15€ these garra rufa, which typically come from Turkey, will trail-blaze through your calluses and even suck between your toes. They leave no dead skin behind.

At first I was excited to try this out, but as soon as I sat over the massive pedicure fish tank I started to tense up. THREE. TWO. ONE! My feet submerged and the fish went crazy. The first minute was really intense, body squirming and uncontrollable laughs exited my belly. It was weird. Even though they offer a 30 minute session I opted for the 15 minutes for 15€ to give it a shot. That was a perfect amount of time and my feet felt so refreshed and soft!

The fish felt like high-powered jets hitting my feet, so if the idea of fish munching on your toes grosses you out, just close your eyes and pretend the sensation is caused by jacuzzi jets and you’ll be fine.

[…] Obviously, this is nothing compared to weird spa treatments like having snakes slither on your face…or fish suck your feet. […]

Ah! This would be a crazy, out of the box experience! Random question, do you know if blowout bars have become popular in Florence yet? I’d love to have my hair professionally washed and dried when we’re in town next week but didn’t know if this was popular yet.

There are so many salons in Florence that you shouldn’t have a problem finding a place just for a blowout. I usually go to Contesta Rock for my hair cuts and style. http://contestarockhair.com/
